Abstract

The prefocus, sealed beam unit has a flange which is gripped by a collar held in place by springs. The collar is joined to the mounting plate of the headlamp by two screw adjusters and one spring so that the headlamp can be aligned. In order to replace the headlamp the collar is simply unclipped, loosening the springs, and a new unit clipped into place. The adjustment screws are not altered so that the new unit is aligned for normal use, and requires only minor adjustments, if any, to achieve accurate alignment. The mounting plate is fitted with shaped rubber gaskets to provide a secure seating for the lamp.
