Abstract

The bottom headlamp is clipped to a frame which is hinged at the bottom edge on a horizontal pivot on the lamp surround. The top end of the frame is coupled to a control rod whose other end is connected to a double action servo cylinder. The servo cylinder is connected to the automatic self-levelling system on the suspension, or to a manual adjusting control. The cylinder is fitted to headlamp surround frame by means of a bayonet type fastener, or similar push-on fitting. This enables the headlamp system to be easily unfastened for repair and replacement, while eliminating bolts in a place which is not readily accessible.
