Abstract

A plastic pref. polyethylene sheet or film is hot-seated in >=2 places onto the plastic bag near its opening, to define passage(s) for retaining an endless band, pref. of polypropylene. The band is passed round the back of the bag brought forward and tightened to complete the closure. When the bag is tightened, the stress is applied to the bag body, and the hot sealed portions will not be subject to stress and suffer damage.
