Abstract

The device carries out tobacco plants from the cutter bar to the rear of the machine, placing them gently on the ground in a row, leaving room for the subsequent passage of a tractor. It consists of a frame (1) on which is fixed the main driving roller (2). Belts (7 to 13) run between this roller and free rollers (5) located just behind the cutter bar. The machine is driven either from the tractor power take-off or by a land wheel. The belts are driven at a speed which is very low in relation to the ground, so that the plants travelling along the belts are tipped slowly and gently onto the ground, in a row and spaced out so that they may undergo the necessary process of wilting. All bruising or tearing is avoided.
