Abstract

Device used in the storage and transport of a number of sheets of fragile material, for example glass. The sheets of glass (3) are supported vertically by two end frames (2). Each frame comprises side members (4, 5, 6) joined by upper and lower cross-members (7, 8). The weight of the load is carried by the lower cross pieces, and these are closer together than the feet (6), so that the moment of the load causes a compressive end load to be applied to the sheets by the upper cross members. Means (60) are provided to hold the assembly together and eyes (9) to lift it. Variations apply a load to the top fo the sheets, or are suitable for thin high stacks of sheets etc.
