Abstract

Zeolites (esp. 5A zeolites) used to separate n-paraffins from hydrocarbon mixts. by alternate adsorption and desorption with H2O-contg. NH3 are reactivated by (a) treating with H2O, an aq. soln. or an H2O-contg. gas at 350 degrees C (pref. 20-250 degrees C), (b) heating at >350 degrees C (pref. 400-550 degrees C) pref. in a gas stream, and opt. (c) treating with O2 or an O2-contg. gas at 450-650 degrees C, stage (c) being effected before or after stage (b). The process makes practically complete reactivation possible in an economic manner.
