Abstract

The insulating socket body has a two-section cylindrical cavity. The first section at the plug entrance has a larger dia. than the second, both being connected by a sloping shoulder. In each section one metallic contact ring is fixed with an inner dia. equal to that of the section. The contact rings are connected to lugs on the outside of the socket body. Sealing rings are at each end and in each section. The plug consists of an insulating cylindric body with the cable accepting mouthpiece into which at the other end an insulating holding body can be inserted. A central bore through both plug parts accepts the coaxial cable. The holding part of the plug has an axial slot. A springy contact ring at the free end of the holding part of the plug makes contact with the socket contact ring and permits also solder connection with the inner cable conductor. A second springy contact ring in the vicinity of the two plug halves mating area makes contact with the other contact ring in the socket and permits also soldering to the cable outer conductor. The tight telescoping plug parts can be stuck after cable insertion and soldering.
