Abstract

The cathode comprises one or more conductor wires around which an insulating strip-like spacer is wound. The tip of the cathode is surrounded by a cap and the end is held in an electrical connector which has a fitting which can be used to supply electrolyte to the inside of the tube it is too long to be immersed in an anodizing bath. Pref. the spacer and the fitting are of plastics. The cathode is esp. useful for straight or bent small dia. tubes for carrying water, e.g. in heat exchangers, and gives uniform current distribution without tube/cathode contact.
