Abstract

Heating units comprising an insulated electrical resistance wire element enclosed by a metal (Al) tube and connected to external leads, where the metal cover extends to enclose part of the incoming lead and an ancillary impermeable elastic sleeve is used to seal the joint between the lead sheath and the tube of the heating unit. Esp. for sealing heaters to be used in a damp environment viz for defrosting refrigerators or cold storage equipment.
