Abstract

In addition to the conventional system of lateral submarine ballasting, diving, surfacing, propulsion and steering are effected by one or more cycloidal propellers with horizontal axes, each having a circular crown plate (1), with on its periphery horizontal blades (2) arranged in a circle. Each of these turns on an axis perpendicular to the crown plate, under the action of a connecting rod parallel to the plane of the crown plate. The assembly of connecting rods has a control head which can be moved into a position eccentric to the propeller. The propellers can be mounted in pairs, one pair at the front and the other at the rear.
