Abstract
Boat hull comprising a one-piece moulded shell fitted with a rigid cockpit, where each end of the boat can be aligned with the cockpit axis by adjustment of the tension in at least 3 pairs of cables connecting the stem (or stern) former to centreline and symmetrically lateral axes on the cockpit. The longitudinal curvature of the hull can be varied by adjusting the tension in a trellis pattern of struts located between the gunwales. Used for mfr. of e.g., racing sculls, catamaran or trimaran hulls, etc., esp. of twin shell construction made from two crossplied laminates interfacially bonded by a cold setting resin. The number of laminate layers may increase towards the cockpit.
