Abstract

The aim is to allow air to circulate freely in a room with out allowing insects to enter and making the room liable to entry by burglars. The device is easily adapted to fit any size door or window. It is placed between window/door sill and the lower slat (2) of the shutter (3). It consists of a metal frame (5) with two uprights (7, 8) and two crosspieces (9, 10), and a fly screen (6). The lower cross-piece (10) rests on upper edge (11) of window/door sill. The thicknesses of uprights (7), (8) correspond to the internal width of the shutter guide rails (12, 13), thereby making the device (4) integral with the shutter (3). A panel (23) is used to fill any gap between upright (8) and rail (13). A guide rail (17), (21) surround two edges of the frame.
