Abstract

The retaining wall is constructed from two panels (A & B) which are prefabricated and contain most the reinforcing steel needed for the retaining wall. Steel stirrups (6) project from the precast panels into the in situ concrete (3). A kicker is cast on the base of the retaining wall. The panels are seated on wooden blocks (13) against the kicker and are held by a tie bar (8). There is another tie bar (2) holding the tops of the panels. Other tie bars are cast in the front panel and project through the rear one. Lifting the panels is facilitated by eyes (9).
