Abstract

Chain support is an axle that is mounted in the rear forks of a bicycle. It has on the chain carrying side a stop recessed to fit on one side of the forks, a chain-carrying pulley capable of axial movement and a hand operated clamp nut. On the other end is a reduced diameter to enter the fork with a hand operated nut on each side. The chain is placed on the pulley, the axle is positioned in the forks, one side between stop and pulley and the other between the two nuts, and is clamped by the three nuts. A support, composed of the chain-side details only mounted on a half-axle, may alternatively be used.
