Abstract

1391548 Slings KABELSCHLEPP GmbH 17 Aug 1972 [21 Aug 1971] 38305/72 Heading B8H [Also in Division F2] A device for turning a workpiece 7 comprises a cross-beam 21 in the form of an H-section girder having a suspension attachment 22, two slings 5, 6 for holding the workpiece 7 being mounted respectively on drive rollers 23, 24 which are mounted respectively on carriages 25, 26 each of which accommodates a motor 28, 29 for driving the rollers 23, 24 and thus the slings 5, 6. The distance separating the slings 5, 6 is variable as the carriages 25, 26 are each in engagement by means of a nut 32 or 33 with a rotatable spindle 30 or 31, the free outer end 35 of each spindle being square shanked for receiving a handle crank (not shown). Tensioning rollers 36, 37 are mounted below each of the rollers 23, 24, the distance between the rollers being variable to permit variation of the arc of contact between the slings 5, 6 and the rollers 23, 24. In the embodiment of Fig. 1 (not shown) the distance between the slings 5, 6 is not variable.
