Abstract

Roller skates of simplified design which have an overall width reduced to that of a shoe. Foot operated brakes at front and rear act on all four wheels. The chassis (3) is of stainless steel bent to a C-shape. The four wheels (5, 8) fit inside on two axles and a strap (4) and buckle (12) hold the foot to the skate. A flat spring (11) and a curved spring (7) are fixed to the chassis at front and rear. These carry brake blocks (1, 2) and braking is effected by exerting foot pressure on studs (10) screwed into the springs. Adjustment of the studs avoids inadvertent operation.
