Abstract

The self braking castor for the twin axled support trolley is mounted on a special support pillar linked to the brake mechanism. The brake is applied when the support is forced sideways, or when additional weight is placed on the castor. The system provides a simple brake control, with the braking force increasing with castor loading and with tipping action of the support platform. The castors are suitable for skateboards to provide turning control with selective castors braked.
