Abstract

The spreader is designed to avoid excess stress concentration at the points where the lifting eyes are attached to it, and is composed of two U-section girders, the central webs of which are to the outside. The lifting eye can be secured by an intermediate member, acting against the upper girder webs. Adjusting racks can be mounted inside the spreader, with pointed teeth to allow setting of the lifting hook axis pins in a number of different positions along it, and avoid them lodging on top of any of the individual teeth.
