Abstract

The filter body is of moulded plastic, housing a folded paper element. Any air or gas bubbles collect in the space above the filter element which is annular and surrounds a central cylindrical chamber which receives a downward extension of the outlet pipe. The outlet pipe communicates with this space through a small slot in the extension which is almost blocked by a metal strip, but the resultant gap is sufficient to pass air bubbles but restrict solid particles. A drain plug is fitted to the lower transparent half of the body to drain away any water.
