Abstract

The burner is, by means of a normally closed valve and a gas expander, connected to the container which includes an annular chamber between two coaxial moving parts, one of which has a toroidal shaped joint tightly engaging a cylindrical surface on the other. One end of a passage leading to gas exit and burner through a porous ring on the inner part is connected to the chamber. This end will only be connected to the chamber when the lighter is operated by pressing the inner part, and because the passage has a small volume only a small amount of liquified gas will expand. The moving parts are within the annular reservoir.
