Abstract

There is a central rotating shaft concentric with a helical spring which carries a number of flexible arms which in turn carry steel scrapers. The scrapers acting under centrifugal force will follow the internal contour of the pipe or duct to be cleaned. The central rotating shaft is also flexible and is driven by an electric motor through a Vee-Belt drive, this shaft being surrounded by a protective sheath. The rotation of the spring ensures a continuous vert. movement of the arms as they rotate.
