Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the operating efficiency of a compressor in a simple construction by fitting two impellers to be separately rotatable and connecting them to two electric motors mutually different in the number of revolution. CONSTITUTION:Two impellers 11 and 12 are fitted to be separately rotatable, and connected to two electric motors 1 and 2 mutually different in the number of revolution. In this construction, for example, when the electric motor 1 is provided with 6 poles and 1000 revolutions per minute and the motor 2 with 2 poles and 3000 r.p.m., relative speeds of impellers can be selected in 4 stages of 4000, 3000, 2000, and 1000 r.p.m. by rotating motors 1 and 2 optionally by an AC electric source of a fixed frequency. Consequently, the speed can be changed in plural stages by a simple construction for improving the operating efficiency of a compressor.
