Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a motor capable of high speed rotation, low speed rotation or variable speed rotation by rotationally driving the stator of another motor by one motor. CONSTITUTION:A rotor 2 is magnetically coupled to the stator 1 of a first induction motor to be moved rotationally. The stator 3 of a second induction motor is directly connected with the stator 2 mechanically to rotate. A rotor 4 is magnetically coupled to the stator 3 to be driven rotationally. When both the first and second induction motors are turned in the same direction as two- pole motors, they rotate at 3000rpm respectively so that the rotational output of 6000rpm can be obtained by an output shaft 6. Also, when the stator 1 and rotor 2 as two-pole synchronous motor and the stator 3 and rotor 4 as two-pole induction motor are turned in the same direction, the rotation of 5850rpm can be obtained and that of 150rpm, in the reverse direction. Further, when the synchronous motor and then the induction motor are DC-excited and stopped, the rotational outputs of 2850rpm and 3000rpm can be obtained from the other motors, respectively.
