Abstract
The prepn. of an oxidn. catalyst for the oxydn. of CO and/or hydrocarbons in gas streams (esp. exhaust gases from IC engines), comprising a ceramic support based on Al2O3 and/or an aluminosilicate combined with (a) Pt (introduced by impregnation), (b) >=1 oxide of Fe, Ni and Co (introduced by impregnation) and (c) >=1 oxide of Mn or Cr (introduced (partially) by ceramic methods), is improved in that the support is also impregnated with an Alsalt, pref. before impregnation with Pt. This improves the low-temp. activity of the catalyst.
