Abstract
1478253 Nitrogen oxide reduction catalyst JAPAN GASOLINE CO Ltd 6 June 1975 [11 June 1974] 24411/75 Heading B1E [Also in Division C1] A catalyst for reduction of nitrogen oxides in waste gases comprises an active iron or copper component, e.g. the oxides or sulphates supported on a silica-alumina carrier containing not less than 60% wt of silica and in which the pore volume occupied by pores measuring 150 A or more in diameter is not less than 0.15 cc/g. The catalyst may contain 0.5-20% wt of active component. The carrier may be formed by cogellation or deposition of alumina gel onto a silica hydrogel, followed in both cases by calcination. The iron or copper components may be applied by impregnation.
