Abstract
Spark plug electrode made from a dispersion hardened nickel alloy contg. 0.03-2.5% pref. 0.1-2.5 wt.% Al, 0-6.1 (pref. 0-6) wt.% Cr, 0-0.51 (pref. 0-0.5) wt.% Ti, 0-0.1 wt.% C and 0-1 wt.% of an element chosen from Y and rare earth metals, the balance being Ni plus impurities. The dispersed comprises >=1 of Y, Ce, Th or rare earth oxides having a particle size of 0.01-1.0 mu and is present as 0.3-2.5 vol.% of the alloy. The alloy shows good cold drawing properties and high oxidation resistance including resistance to periodic oxidation.
