Abstract

The sheet, which is sensitised with a coating capable of colour formation in contact with a chromogenic material and contg. an acid organic substance, has a coating contg. a finely-divided mixt. contg. acidic org. cpds.(s). (I), e.g. an aromatic carboxylic acid or its salt with a polyvalent metal, and org. high-mol. cpds.(s). (II). The material has excellent resistance to heat, light, humidity and water and can retain stable colour-forming capacity, and acceptor coating compsn. having excellent mech. and thermal stability. The coating contains >5 (15-300)wt. pts. (II)/100 pts. (I) and pref. also 1-10,000 (5-1000) pts./100 pts. (I) of a water-insol. inorg. metal cpd. or pigment and/or an organic powder (aliphatic carboxylic acid(s) and/or their salts with polyvalent metals.
