Abstract

Between the double walls, cross bulkheads divide the space into ballast tanks and the inside wall on which the thermal lagging is supported within which the cargo tanks are placed carries on its inside face a large number of parallel flayed reinforcing girders defining dranage compartments for an hull leakage or "weifing". The polyurethane foam insulation panels, with scarfed edges are supported on rigid pads fixed to the flanges of the ribs by chips and joined at their edges by glued strips. The ribs are drilled at intercals for drainage of any leaks.
