Abstract

Degassing vessel uses shower of cold water droplets to condense steam fron a mixture of steam and non-condensable gases which are left to escape separately; the condensing space is surmounted by a heat transmission chamber supplied with cold water in closed circuit and the base of the chamber is perforated near its edge to allow drops to pass through and form the cold shower, a down-pipe extending from the heat transmission chamber, through the base and into a balance tank in the condensing space.
