Abstract

A textile fabric (e.g. paper non-woven fabric, lingerie of cotton or polyester is dyed by being dampened either by soaking or electrostatic spraying and the projecting (e.g. electrostatic spraying) powdered dye onto pref. only one face of the fabric. Then the fabric is pref. heated to cause migration of the dye and to fix it. Pref. the dampening agent is water containing urea. The method is quick and cheap and there is little wastage of dye.
