Abstract

The speed of textile yarn which is being wound on a reel is automatically controlled by a jockey pulley device which produces a square pulse sequence proportional to the peripheral speed. This sequence is passed to a differentiator and a rectifier. The instantaneous value of the differentiated pulses is compared with a d.c. voltage desired value. The difference is used as the input to an integrator, which controls with its output the reel motor speed.
