Abstract

Slightly modified false twist machines are used to produce the yarns at very high speeds. A core of elastic polyurethane or rubber thread is enveloped in a continuous multifilament thermoplastic yarn, some of the filaments of which are bonded to the core, the threads being so intertwined that a high degree of fluidity ensures excellent coating characteristics. The direction of wind of the covering thread is reversed intermittently and irregularly.
