Abstract

Treatment chamber having an inlet and an outlet end, the textile being arranged as a package pref. within an open ended container in the chamber to prevent direct connection between the inlet and outlet end. A pressure differential is set up between the inlet and outlet end so that vapour supplied to the inlet end is forced longitudinally through the package to the outlet end. The flow direction may be subsequently reversed. The inlet end is in connection with the centre of the package whilst the outlet end is in connection with the outer surface of the package. Pref. one end of the container is closed and a central hollow pillar extends upwardly within the container from the closed lower end.
