1332392 Washing containers GRADEL SA 6 Sept 1971 [8 Sept 1970] 41536/71 Heading B8T [Also in Divisions F2 F4 and G6] In apparatus for maintaining fluid flow through an element 1 immersed in a fluid, while the element is moved in the fluid which may be for heating, cooling, washing or chemically treating the element, the element has at least two openings to serve as an inlet and outlet for the fluid and a plurality of spaced apart nozzles I, II, III for immersion in the fluid. As particularly described, an article of tubular form e.g. an irradiated fuel element 1 is immersed in a fluid e.g. argon and has one end connected to a suction nozzle I communicating with a suction pump (not shown) via a pipe 3I, a valve 5 and pipe 4. Nozzles II and III are also connected to the pump via the valve 5 so that flow of fluid through the article is mantained by inserting in nozzle II or III to achieve closed circuit flow.
