Abstract

Alkali resistant alkali (pref. Na) alpha-olefinsulphonates contg. 8-12C atoms in the org. moiety are added to mercerising lyes in an amt. of 0.5-10 g/l; other additives include lower alcohols or diols, or their ethers with lower alcohols (0.1-10 g/l; triesters of orthophosphoric acid and lower alcohols (0.05-5 g/l), and opt. trialkanolamines or N-alkyl-dialkanolamines cong. 2-3C in the alkoxy gps. (0.5-10 g/l). The alkali content is 150-300 g/l. The duration of the treatment is reduced (to e.g. 15 secs) due to the improved wetting props. of the baths.
