Abstract

Esp. for use in bottled liquefied gas handling, the body of the valve which fits into the neck of the gas bottle to form a gas-tight seal, has a central through channel through which the bottle is filled by a filler pipe and a second channel through which gas is allowed to flow at a controlled rate out of the bottle. This second channel, esp. radial, is controlled by a normal rotary piston valve mechanism and in order to enable the filler pipe to be passed through the central channel into the interior of the bottle, the moving parts of the valve and its seat are in the form of an integral sub-assembly which can be removed from within the body of the valve. Esp. the bore in the body has an internal threaded section into which the insert is screwed.
