Abstract

1,008,349. Filling bottles. HOLSTEIN & KAPPERT MASCHINENFABRIK PHOENIX G.m.b.H. July 31, 1963, No. 30334/63. Heading B8T. In a filler for bottling carbonated beverages the liquid first flows slowly due to gravity through a filling pipe 11 from a storage reservoir 3 into a vessel 21 when the pressure in the two is equal, and then flows with high speed when the pressure in the vessel is lowered by closing a valve 22 and so closing an air passage 12 and by momentarily opening a pressure release valve 27. The pressure in the vessel gradually increases and at the end of the filling operation the valve 22 is opened to obtain once more equal pressure in the reservoir and in the vessel. The pressure release valve 27 is opened when a control pin 28 abuts against control segments 29. A spring-biased valve 8 lifts to permit flow when the equal pressure between reservoir and bottle is formed.
