Abstract

Fully-insulated pipework sections are prefabricated ready for simple, rapid assembly on site, without welding. Each section has a central pipe spaced from a coaxial outer jacket by annular support collars, the ends of the pipe projecting axially beyond the ends of the jacket for coupling to pipes in adjacent prefabricated sections. The central pipe can be made of any material suitable for conveying the liquid to be thermally insulated. The outer jacket is pref. two coaxial, plastics tubes sepd. by polyurethane foam. The exposed joint between sections can be covered with a split sleeve.
