Abstract

Improved pressure reducing valve of the spring-loaded, balanced diaphragm type commonly used for delivering a supply of gas at a constant, reduced pressure from a bottle of liquefied gas. Previously the balance spring was put under torsion as the pressure adjusting knob is rotated and this reduces the possibility of accurately controlled output pressures, held constant over long periods. The balance spring is now held in a telescopic sleeve which is rotated to shorten or lengthen the spring which is not subjected to torsion.
