Abstract

Grinding disc consists of diamond and/or boron nitride granules, a non-metallic binder and at least one filler consisting of granules of graphite or graphite contg material with a metallic coating. The binder is a synthetic resin. The disc contains 1-60% vol graphite granules, not including the metallic coating. The metallic coating forms 0.5-80% vol. of the coated graphite granules. The graphite granules have a size of 0.01-2 mm. The metallic coating consists of Ag, Cu, Au, Al, Be, W, Mo, Ni, Co, Fe, Cr, Zn, Sn or Cd. These metals may be alloyed with C, P, S, B or Si. The disc has a high heat conductivity and high strength. Discharge of heat during dry grinding is considerably improved.
