Abstract

Holding down sinkers are arranged alternately with loop forming sinker, and are movable axially by a rotating programme cylinder which acts on a butt on the near end of the sinker. Pref. locking element is movable to prevent axial movement of the sinker causing the sinker to rock about the locking element. The mechanism can produce a wide variety of tuck stitches.
