Abstract

A synthetic fur is produced by knitting a fabric with a loop pile on one surface and breaking the loops with a brushing device to produce imitation hair. The fabric is knitted from synthetic yarns or filaments, and pref. the yarns/filaments forming the loop pile also form part of the base knit. The process has a reduced number of operations thereby allowing the synthetic fur to be made quickly and cheaply.
