Abstract

A pattern is formed using an ink on an ink impermeable substrate (e.g. silicone wax impregnated paper) and the patterned area covered with a liquid polymer (e.g. polyvinyl chloride). The substrate is then pressed against the garment (e.g. a cottom T-shirt) and heated (e.g. to 150 degrees-200 degrees C) so that the polymeric material impregnates the fabric and is cured whereby when the substrate is removed the ink pattern is bonded to the fabric by the polymeric material. The method is economic and simple to perform.
