Abstract

The construction of the flame-proof fabric is a laminate with an upper layer composed of polyester fibres bonded to a lower layer of flame-proof material of acrylic fibres, polyester thread being used to stitch the layers together. The purpose is to allow the structured fabric to be printed in a heat transfer process, at temp. in excess of 200 degrees C, without melting the acrylic fibres so that the flame-proff character and the fabric structure are not damaged.
