Abstract
Shoe insole consists of a layer of a chemically inert plastic rubber material enclosed in a practically sealed manner between an upper part and a lower part, the plastic material having (1) a viscosity of 100,000 - 200,000 poises, (2) a fluidity of 2 - 5 microrhes under a pressure of 5 kg/cm2 at 20 degrees C, (3) a penetration value of 10 - 65 tenths of mm, measured by ASTM D217-48 with a penetrometer provided with a 5.35 mm. cylinder having a weight of 5.7 g and a height of 12.7 mm. and (4) a rebound value of 0.80 - 1.60 m. when a 12g ball is dropped from a height of 2.5 m. onto a hard surface. The inside is plastic and supple, and adapts itself at all times to the position of a foot of the wearer.
