Abstract

The cylindrical shell of the godet roller is mounted concentrically around a roller bearing, mounted on a shaft, by means of an insualting annulus of low thermal conductivity. Pref. two spaced insulating annular provided each having axially extending ducts to allow a cooling air flow through the gap between the shell and the bearing. Heating of the shell and bearing are reduced eliminating the necessity to use heat resistant bearing lubricants.
