Abstract

Wind-up appts. for spun and/or drawn synthetic yarn, with friction drive roll, is one in which: (a) a drive motor, changing equipment and continuously rotating drive roll are combined to form a construction unit which can move along a straight vertical path in such a way that the unit is displaced in the direction of and can be pressed against the yarn package, and (b) the construction unit is connected with pneumatic support elements which can be loaded by compressed air at differing adjustable pressures for the control of the contact pressure of the drive roll and the yarn package and the displacement of the construction unit against its own weight.
