Abstract
1306175 Releasable fastenings; stud and socket fastenings TRW INC 11 June 1971 [2 July 1970] 27512/71 Headings E2A and E2B Cables 22, Fig. 1, for example are clamped to a channel-shaped member 6 by a strap 24 and a pair of clips 20. The member 6, Fig. 2, and the strap 24, Fig. 3, are provided with spaced-slots 14 and 32 respectively. Each clip 20 is made of spring metal, has a head 36, Fig. 6, and legs 40, 42. The leg 40 extends to a bent portion 48 and to a flexible hook portion 50 and the leg 42 has a pair of arms 56, each having a portion 57, Fig. 7, which extends at 90 degrees to the arm 56. Each leg has a lug 52, Fig. 6, which retains the clip in one of the slots 14 of the member 6. In use the strap 24 is passed through an aperture 38 in the head 36 and between the arms 56, Fig. 6, of the leg 42. The hook of the portion 50 enters a slot 32 in the strap 24, the amount of entry of the hook being limited by a protrusion 47 formed on the portion 50. The protrusion is positioned so as to be located adjacent one of the slots 32 in the strap so that, by pulling an end 30 thereof, the hook is moved out of the slot, the protrusion 47 and the hook effecting a camming action. Release of the strap end 30 allows re-hooking to be effected. Un-clamping of the cables is by a tool (not shown) which moves the hook portion 50 away from the strap 24.
