Abstract

The press comprises a first piston and cylinder actuated by a hydraulic pump, the cylinder having a stop which limits the throw of the piston, together with a second piston and cylinder which conveys a higher force to the first assembly so that an effect of super-compression is achieved and communicated to a tool. The machine provides a two stage punch with predetermined throws, and enables the punched part to be severed from a strip by the higher pressure.
