Abstract
Electrolytic auxiliary analyzer for gas chromatographs. Two coaxial tubes of Pd-Ag alloy have a part of the annular space between them filled with a molten electrolyte contg. 10% of LiOH and 10 to 35% water. A carrier gas including H2 contg. a dispersion of the chromatographed constituents of the gas or vapour sample to be further analysed passes over the inner surface of the inner electrode, which is heated so that it is permeable by the carrier gas. A part of the carrier gas is extracted through the cell and fed back to the original separator column. The residual gases in the inner tube pass on to a detector. Esp. used in analysis of air pollution, smokes, etc.
